Greetings,

My name is Doris Drake. I am a South Carolina native. I received my Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Carolina and my Master of Arts in Counseling from Columbia
International University. After graduating from the University of South Carolina I worked for the City of Columbia as a 911 Dispatcher for over 15 years. While working in that position I noticed the call volume for youth between the ages of eight through eighteen escalated for behavioral issues and/or suicide. I understood the issue was kids are being exposed to so much more than we were exposed to. They are not mentally and emotionally prepared to respond to what they are prematurely being exposed to.

After receiving my Masters in Clinical Counseling I resigned from my position as a 911 Dispatcher to work towards creating solutions to the issue this generation is facing. Therefore, I established the Rebirth Enterprise: Youth Development Program (REYDP).

Working with the youth is my calling that I have grown to accept and love. I have had the privilege of having a positive impact on the lives of the youth in various ways. I worked with the youth in several churches. I have hosted seminars at youth events on topics such as emotional health, peer pressure, athletic development, and stress management. I have conducted a few of my programs in youth summer programs throughout the state of South Carolina and North Carolina. I also worked in the school system as a substitute teacher to gain a better understanding of what my program should offer to be effective by addressing the needs of the students. I am also an instructor at Alive at 25. I teach this course in high schools throughout South Carolina.
